another day at the office

Today my day was really just consumed with work , I slept in late, snuggled with my sick dooogie and worked the rest of the day. 3 things I accomplished off my list were, staying optimistic about my new hire at work , I really feel like he will increase business and get more money in the restaurant and in our tip jar, I am still telling myself that even though Kash is really sick a lesson is to be found in that and third I took 10 min ( or more) at the end of my day , during my drive home and decompressing over a plate of fish sticks with a side of cucumbers w/ balsamic talking to my husband about the positives about my work , and the future we are looking forward to , instead of just griping about it . So all in all today was good, and even though I slept through most of the morning and worked through the rest of it , the weather was really nice too. Here is to a good nights rest, because I never know what tomorrow will bring

New Year

2012. Where did the time go? I started this blog about a year ago and this is my first time back since then, but the good thing is that I'm back. Its a new year and I have new goals.
Not in any specific order:
De Clutter , organize, learn how to use my fathers cameras, read more, listen more, take and pass a level one sommelier class, find peace, relax, exercise , swim , finish my tattoo, save money, take an extended beach break, keep the people in my life that are important as close to be as possible, and laugh. I recently read an article that made me realize that it takes a habit to break a habit and if you do anything for 30 days, it become 2 nd nature. I am trying to life by this rule starting this week. I have recently seen first hand how easy it was to fall into a lazy unhealthy slump of not exercising and eating bad, so it would only make sense that if I start small at reversing this that in 30 days I will be back to being healthy and fit. Here is a list of some other things I want to try and make a habit.
-use words that encourage happiness
-try one new thing
-help someone else be happy
-dedicate an hour a day to something you like
-concentrate on optimism
-acknowledge life lessons in inconvenient situations
-pay attention to life as it happens/live in the now
-get rid of one thing a day/de clutter
-create something
-ditch 3 bad habits for 30 days
-watch less tv
-work on a long term goal for an hour a day
-read a chapter of a book everyday
-face a fear
-cook new recipes
-spend 10 min every evening on what went well
-document everyday with a photo or paragraph
I am going to use this blog to document my days and record what I accomplished on my list

Day one Jan 4 2012
Today was a lazy day, which I haven't had many of in the past , part of me feels guilty for lounging around but I know the coming days will be jam packed with busy, so I told myself I was conserving energy. I also have an old sick dog at home, These may be his last days, so I Also could not think of leaving his side.
While reflecting on my day I can say today I worked on my long term goal by making a list of restaurants that could be potential employers in the future, I helped someone be happy by making coffee for my husband before work, I'm trying or retrying a new thing by this 2 nd attempt at blogging , And I am acknowledging life lessons in an inconvenient situation by realizing that I should not focus on the fact that my doggie may not be with us much longer but focus on the great memories he has given me.
Today I recharged my battery and tomorrow is a new day, now I'm going to try and read a chapter of a book. ;)
